“The stakes are higher in the current political climate, but Latino’s, Inc.‘s original lesson remains: to keep matters of politics, economics, and power in the foreground and never hidden behind the flashy and seductive images that tantalize us all.” (Arlene Davila, 2012, pages xxxvi-xxxvii)

  1. That fact that artists like Kendrick and Beyonce are using their platforms to draw attention to what has been going on in society is refreshing to see. The fact that they are both emphasizing events that still resonates within society shouldn’t be placed on the back burner. People want to keep things behind this glass that hides whatever is going on and they are shattering it in their way because things like this shouldn’t be hidden and should be addressed in any way, shape or form.
